Big demonstration will take place in front of General Attorney’s office on Jalan Sisingamangaraja, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, today. Our source in Jakarta Metro Police Intelligence said first crowd, 500 demonstrators from Anti-narcotics Squad (SAN), will arrive on the location on 9 AM.
Thirty minutes later, another 500 from Anti-drugs Community (GERAM) will come afterward. Followed by 100 from National Anti-narcotics Movement(GANAS) and 750 Anti-narcotics’ National Movement (GRANAT).
This massive crowd is protesting General Attorney’s decision that protecting two female attorneys from police prosecution. Attorney Esther and Dara were released by Jakarta Police Headquarter since General Attorney refused police plea to extend their containment period. Esther and Dara were arrested by police three weeks ago for selling 343 ecstasy pills taken from evidence article. These activists are infuriated by attorneys’ demeanor. They had showed their rage by hitting attorney’s carwhen picked up Esther and Dara from Jakarta Police Headquarter last Saturday. An action that could be repeated in today’s demonstration.
With more than 1500 crowds, the traffic on Jalan Sisingamangaraja will surely stuck. We highly recommend not passing Jalan Sisingamangaraja, especially on lane heading north or directing Bunderan Senayan and Masjid Agung Al azhar to avoid congestions. You can use alternative way by turning east on Blok M junction through Melawai and passing Blok M bus
station and Jalan Trunojoyo.
From General Attorney’s office, demonstrators are continuing their action separately on Jakarta Attorney’s Office on Jalan HR Rasuna Said and in front of Presidential Palace on Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara. Please be anticipated accordingly.
